To celebrate Richard's 40th birthday today (the 19th), I thought a picspam of our favourite Hamster was in order. :D (With some Jeremy and James thrown in for good measure.)
Why we love our Hamster
"Jeremy once claimed that Richard was born to be on TV. After a rapid climb through hospital radio and cable TV he landed his big break on BBC Two for Top Gear. The rest is history. At one point, it was possible to turn on your TV and see Richard on every channel at any time of day. Phew. Anyway, it's obvious women the world over adore him - something about his puppy dog eyes, and wanting to protect him from the nasty Mr Clarkson. Richard has not had his teeth whitened."
Richard, Mindy, Izzy and Willow
Interviewer: "What has been your proudest moment so far?" The boys
Richard: "The births of my daughters"
"This has never been done before. We are now at the cutting edge of cocking about!"
No matter what they or anyone else says, Richard, Jeremy and James are great mates. If you read what Richard's wife, Mindy, wrote about his crash, you'll see that they are genuine mates. "During the next few hours Richard's younger brothers Andy and Nick arrived, as did Jeremy Clarkson, James May and some other members of the Top Gear team who set up camp downstairs in the reception area. When they hugged me it felt like my big brothers had turned up. James was very upset and Jeremy said he just wanted to be there for me. On Friday night I still hadn't slept. Jeremy had to go back home because his wife Francie was going away but he said: "I'm not leaving here until I see you going to bed." I didn't want to leave Richard's side for a moment but Jeremy was determined he wouldn't leave until I'd had some rest."
Richard and Top Gear Dog
Jeremy: [Talking about their new dog, Top Gear Dog (TGD), being a Labradoodle (Labrador-Poodle cross)] "Yeah, that makes her a hybrid. We were going to call her "Prius", but that would have been cruel... and she would have eaten a lot more than we were expecting." Top Gear Live!
